Brown Deer High School (BDHS) has a mission to inspire students to be passionate learners, creative thinkers, and innovative leaders who enrich our world. We currently serve 580 students and pride ourselves on providing first-class instruction with small class sizes. Each class size contains about 25 students, small enough for teachers to be more involved in student learning. Our teachers are dedicated to helping prepare students for life after high school.
We provide a variety of courses to help exceed student learning, one of them being the many AP courses provided for almost every class course. Ranging from AP Chemistry to AP World History, or AP Government, these classes help students reach their full potential and earn college credit. Not only do we have academic classes, but visual art courses are also provided for students to express their creative side. Some classes we provide are Ceramics, Photography, or Metalsmithing. We also offer many AP classes for the variety of art classes we accommodate, like AP Photography or AP Art Studio. All of our courses provide opportunities for students to explore their interests and understand the possible post-graduation college and career plans available.
Aside from the academic courses we provide, Brown Deer is a representation of inclusively. We pride ourselves on the diverse community with students of different ethnicity, race, and social economic backgrounds in the classrooms. BDHS exemplifies the ideals of diversity and inclusion as we prepare students for success in a global community.
